Walter and the snowmen

Walter has been wanting to build snowmen all winter-long, but up until last week when the snow started to melt, it had been too dry to pack together. We finally ended up with two snowmen, a "Walter and Daddy" snowpeople. We were concerned about what to do for eyes at first until I remembered the scrap metal bucket in the barn and fished out four old washers.

8 months

And yes, Byron, who has his first tooth, can tell you from experience, that "Teething DOES Bite."

34 months!

Backwards Day

On Backwards Day, from "Little Bear," we celebrate by having breakfast at night. Walter was the sous-chef helping with pancakes... errr... 'flying flapjacks,' I mean.

The Animal Hunter

Lately, at least that's what Walter has been calling himself. He's dressed up with the fireman's helmet, his gloves and a magnifying glass to go and search out animals in distress and rescue them. Of course, from time to time he needs an adult to accompany him.

One of my favorite times of the day

Just sitting with Walter while he reads.

In my shoes, again...

Walter is always trying to follow in my footsteps, literally...

Walter, the proud "father..."

Until we get a dog of our very own, one of the best things that Melissa has done was to get a puppy from Build A Bear for Walter. The puppy, just known as "puppy" goes with him everywhere and protects him at night. One day, he said that Puppy needed a bottle, so who was I to argue? lately, Puppy has been raiding the cat's food and water bowls.

Another Jeeper

Following on in the proud tradition of Walter and I, Byron loves his Jeep walker. I think that I'll have another barn helper one day soon. "Walter, pass me that wrench. Byron, pass me that screwdriver."

What a difference a month makes...

From January 18th, the 18 inches of snow that we got from the forecasted 6-10". Today, it hit 45 degrees.

Walter, of course, is never fazed by it. It could snow EVERY day as far as he's concerned.

Minus 24

Now this definitely made me remember growing up in Rockwood.

Spinach strikes back.

A couple of weekends ago, Melissa used another Jessica Seinfeld recipe and made a pretty decent chocolate cake with lots of spinach. Walter was none the wiser...
