Okra!
And everyone said that it couldn't be done! Even in Maine Okra will grow given a few 90-100 degree days!
A Visit From Seana!
Labor Day weekend we had a visit from my old friend Seana. As good as it was to see her, the boys must have had as good a time. They loved playing with "Aunt" Seana! Thanks again for everything, Seana. It was great having you here and we'll have to do it again real soon!

The Blackout
The blackout took us a bit by surprise as we had power through most of the actual storm of Hurricane Irene. It didn't go out until 3.45 when the majority of the storm had blown through. Though prepared with charcoal and extra water, we were happy when we got power restored by 10.30 or so the next day. Some people were out for days.
Luckily, Melissa's Kindle was fully charged (thanks to me...:) ) but Walter and Byron in power down status as robots had to go into secret power mode.
Byron sitting on the back deck with Walter and I eating up some leftovers in the fridge. Trust me, despite the face, the apple sauce hadn't gone over yet.

Walter's First Day of Kindergarten!
His first full day at least. Tuesday we had a special parent day where I rode on the bus with Walter to school, met his teacher and fellow students. Walter was excited, asked a billion questions and flirted with a pretty girl in his class.
Yesterday he got on the bus by himself and spent a full day at school. He said that he had fun and they got to play on the playground and overall it was a great day for him! When he got off the bus he ran for Byron and I who were waiting for him.
While waiting for the school bus, Walter decided to transform, a la the Transformers.
Then, of course, Byron had to transform too!
I'm so proud of my big brudder!
Byron so wanted to get on the bus with Walter. He had his school bag ready!
