Sunday Supper and a Brawl Amongst Gladiators

A couple of Sundays ago before supper, we had entertainment from two gladiators using homemade weapons of empty boxes. They certainly got into it!

The reward at the end!

I love ya man!

54 Months

Alright, enough of this photo shoot, this is the end.

This is not the photo shoot that you were looking for.

28 Months!

I'm just a shy boy!

You can't see me, can you?

What about you, teddy?

Hmmm... I think that I'm mad at you now...

Sugar Cookies and Potatoes

Last Sunday we made sugar cookies, Halloween shaped sugar cookies, of course.

Then Byron had to get into the act and soon found himself with a work detail of manning the rolling pin.

Today we also decided to dig up the potatoes. This was a test in a large plastic bucket. Here, in a before pic.

And the first two potatoes we got from it.

Decided to dig up the other bed too, we got quite a few more potatoes from it, but still not as many as I'd hoped for!

Roof Work

I came home from work on Friday to find the lovely view of a bunch of shingles blown and pulled up from the roof hanging there like a... well, hangnail... at the very top of the roof, of course. Getting over my very real fear of heights, not wanting to pay a roofer, nor able to afford one, I rigged up a series of roofing braces, lumber and clambered up one by one until I got to the top. Surprisingly after the first couple of trips up to the top, it wasn't too bad, as long as I didn't look down too much, of course!
It wasn't the prettiest job being only the second time that I've shingled something, it it should hold and keep the roof from leaking. Another feather in my cap... next to fix up the flashing around the skylight. Don't know who put that in, but they did a butt-ugly job of it and never even covered the flashing.

Byron Asleep

I couldn't resist. Byron's newest favorite companion is Walter's old Pound Puppy. Thanks Aunt Madeline, the gift that keeps on giving.
