Two weeks ago, it was M's first day at the new job and the boy's first day at daycare. It was so exciting, it was like a first day off to school. Despite what it may have looked like they were both excited, just tired at having to get up at 5.30AM!
After a hard day of coloring (which was instigated by Byron, who is just discovering it...), we put up our cheap little dome tent that we bought at Cabela's a few months ago. Walter and Byron are really gung-ho about camping outside one night soon. I'm looking forward to the day when the four of us through hike the Appalachian Trail.
Not bad for a $30 tent!
Batman or Iron Man moves.
To get into this tent you'll have to get through Batman AND Iron Man first!
We have started to reap the fruits, well, vegetables of our labors from our small garden. Here are some of the first peas. We're looking forward to the corn, tomatoes and potatoes. M had the day off from work too, so we drove into town and replaced the boys inflatable pool with a new 75% off kids pool. We also found a book that included a cardboard T-Rex model. Walter insisted that we put it together last night and we assembled it even before supper was finished. He's rather proud of "Buddy" and Buddy had to sleep in his bedroom. Walter even got to stay up late last night as it was a special day and he was introduced to his first game of UNO. Walter won two out of three games... beginner's luck?
Yep, the 4th was a scorcher last week so we did all of the typical 4th of July things... broke out the waterguns, jumped into the kid's pool and the boys had their first taste of Freeze Pops!
Hey, how does this work?!?
Almost got the hang of it!
Must concentrate...!
And then we came inside to build some walls... and knock them down.
Walter explaining some mechanics of what we are about to attempt.
It took multiple attempts to drive through the wall and I kept hitting the shutter a split second too early before the car hit the wall!
